Areas of Practice

Mitigation

Lindsay will perform a thorough assessment to better understand mitigating themes in a client’s life. After conducting an initial evaluation, Ms. Bendell will provide contacts for further mitigation interviews and work with the legal team to conduct these interviews. Once mitigation has been gathered, and themes identified, Ms. Bendell will do comprehensive research to support the defense team’s goal. Lindsay can use this information to provide an exhaustive report, a memorandum, or a presentation.

Release & Treatment Planning

Lindsay can support the defense team, client, and family in enrolling the client in community-based services and follow up with a letter of support to present to the prosecution or judge to prevent or limit incarceration.

Supportive Services

As a Clinical Social Worker, Lindsay can support clients going through the legal process by providing brief, solution-focused therapeutic services. After a client completes these services, Lindsay can produce a letter of support to the defense, prosecution, or judge regarding a client’s treatment and their willingness to receive ongoing treatment. Lindsay can then refer the client to an ongoing Mental Health Specialist for extended and ongoing treatment.

Consultation

Are you tired of hiring expert witnesses who do not perform the proper testing your team is seeking? Ms. Bendell can work with you to identify different batteries of assessments to request from expert witnesses, ensuring the team receives what they need. In addition, Lindsay can liaison with experts to verify that all reports and testing are complete and accurate.

Case Management

Ms. Bendell has worked with clients from all backgrounds. She specializes in finding ongoing treatment for clients diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Severe Mental Health diagnoses, and At-Risk clients such as clients with medical needs. In addition, Lindsay has worked with several community organizations to advocate for proper and satisfactory re-entry plans that have allowed clients to be granted bond or have led to cases being dropped entirely.
